How do I get everything done in time for Boards? - Class 10 Edition...
As the Class 10 Board exams draw near, the anxiety of completing our syllabus and revising also starts to take its toll on us. But we must remember that with the right mindset and strategic preparation, you can meet and exceed your targets. By combining intelligent planning, consistent effort, and timely preparation, achieving high scores is within your reach. This article will guide you on staying organized and confident while preparing for the exams and finishing the race right on time.
This study plan is broken down into different phases -
- Completing Syllabus
- Question-based Practice
- 1st Review
- 2nd Review
Assuming that class 10 Boards can begin anytime after 20 February 2025, we're setting the deadline for 15 February 2025 for completing our preparation. We are not supposed to leave anything for the last minute.
Phase - 1: Syllabus Completion
Duration: Oct12 - Nov18
During this phase, our main focus is to cover the entire NCERT line by line, ensuring that there are no grey areas in our understanding.
Let's divide this 6 weeks duration into 3 parts -
Week 1 and 2:
- SCIENCE - Physics
- SOCIAL SCIENCE - Economic (whole) and Geography (as much as possible)
- MATHS - ch - 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7.
- 2nd LANG - Reading Comprehension and Grammer
- OPTIONAL SUBJECT - AI: Green Skills, Evaluation domain and Self Management. IT: Employability Skills.
- SCIENCE: Chemistry
- SOCIAL SCIENCE: Geography (remaining) and Political Science
- Maths- ch - 4, 6, 8, and 9
- English - Grammar and reading literature
- II language - Grammar and reading comprehension
- Optional subject - AI - ICT and NLP, IT - Unit 1 and Unit 3 of Subject Specific Skills.
- SCIENCE - Biology
- SOCIAL SCIENCE - History
- MATHS - ch - 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14
- ENGLISH- literature
- II LANGUAGE - literature
- OPTIONAL SUBJECT - AI - whatever is remaining, IT - Unit 2 and Unit 4 of Subject Specific Skills.
Phase - 2: Question-Based Preparation
Duration: Nov19 - Dec17
As we enter this phase, we're going to use guidebooks, question banks and previous internal exams (periodic tests and half-yearly) papers for practice. (Disclaimer - We'll be using sample papers and mock tests in Review -2).
Let's divide this 4 weeks duration into -
Week 1: Science
Week 2: Social Science
Week 3: English and II Language
Week 4: Maths and Optional Subject
Phase - 3: Review 1
Duration: Dec18 - Jan21
In this phase, we are going to go over old study material - notes and lectures - and indulge in 'Active Recall' also known as 'Blurting'.
Let's divide this 5 weeks duration into -
Week 1: Science
Week 2: Social Science
Week 3: English
Week 4: II Language
Week 5: Maths and Optional Subject
Phase - 4: Review 2
Duration: Jan22 - Feb14
During this time, we will be solving sample papers and practice exams (Mock Tests) and will be going over challenging questions from mock tests and pre-boards held in school.
Let's divide this 3 weeks duration into -
Week 1: English and II Language
Week 2: Science and Maths
Week 3: Social Science and Optional Subject
